STEP 1. CONCRETE DIAMOND GRINDING

STEP 1. CONCRETE DIAMOND GRINDING

All of our floors regardless of age or condition are mechanically ground with diamond grinders. Grinding concrete is the ONLY WAY to ensure contaminates are removed and the concrete pores are open to achieve a 100% true bond! Don't let others fool you that muriatic acid will suffice.

STEP 2. PATCHING

STEP 2. PATCHING

Any cracks that have developed are patched with an epoxy based material to ensure good strength. Expansion joints and control cuts can be filled if requested but, is not recommended.

STEP 3. EPOXY BASE COATING

STEP 3. EPOXY BASE COATING

After thorough mechanical mixing, floor squeegees and rollers are used to apply epoxy. Depending on what system is chosen, vinyl flake or quartz is broadcast into the coating. If a REFLECTOR ENHANCER FLOOR is specified, the first coat acts as a base coat which the reflector coat is then applied on top of.

STEP 4. EPOXY TOP COAT

STEP 4. EPOXY TOP COAT

Lastly, a clear epoxy coating is applied to the surface to achieve desired thickness and act as a protective layer. In some cases, a thin urethane clear coat is applied over the top coat for added protection against scratching and heavy foot traffic.

A properly installed epoxy floor is commonly between 40-65 cured mils thick.
